Starting in November 2013, the Logan CDC and their planning consultants from WRT assembled a group of youth volunteers to work on an exciting multimedia project to tie into their previous My Logan initiative. During the comprehensive planning process, the students were able to capture stories and images that paint a vivid picture of the history and emotions of the Logan community.

Unity in the Community 215 visits My Logan Story

On Thursday, March 6, 2014, My Logan story received a visit from the Unity in the Community 215 Founder/President, Anton Moore. He surprised each of the members with tickets to the Sixers game. Mr. Moore stated that he was proud of the work performance of the group and wanted to assure that they were rewarded.

About Unity in the Community 215

  

Launched in 2009, Unity in the Community is a non-profit organization dedicated to changing the lives of others in the South Philadelphia area. For the past 4 years, we’ve planned and organized numerous philanthropic initiatives including the following: Ultimate Prom Experience, Thanksgiving Community Feast, Operation Holiday Help and a celebrity-packed summer concert and block party. In 2012, Unity in the Community kicked off its first-ever Peace Week; a weeks long of events to promote peace within the community.

Public Community Meeting March 20th @ 6:00 pm

Logan CDC Technology Open House

On March 4th, the Carlton Simmons Community Technology Center was proud to receive a check from AT&T during the open house. Some of the things discussed were the exciting new programs that the Tech Center has to offer. The purpose of the event was to advance the technology within the  Tech Center.

Make Some Noise Logan! Steering Committee # 3

This Steering Committee was a great place to come together and work to help rebuild Logan. In this steering committee we went over a few different topics such as People, Housing and Neighborhoods. Over 30 residents attended this meeting, establishing the guiding principles and overall vision statement for the Logan comprehensive neighborhood plan.
